Well, the MGM-Mirage suits who moved in a month ago and fired the Mandalay upper level managers have made their first moves. All promotions have been cut off and the cashback on VP has been cut in half to 0.25%, although I guess they left the double point Tuesday policy in place; I didn't play to test it out. Slot cashback was not changed.

Gold Strike and Fitzgeralds both have 9/6 JOB. Fitz has about 6 machines upstairs on the second floor. Gold Strike has them at both bars and a rounder on the right half of the casino. Gold Strike is more upscale than Fitz. Gold Strike also has 0.5% cashback. Fitz is much better in their marketing offers. Plus, if you care about smoke, Fitzgeralds and Gold Strike are both pretty bad. Both apparently overflow smokers into nonsmoking rooms, so staying in a clean room is not easy, but Fitz rooms stink worse and rival a bad Motel 6 for accomodations. At least Gold Strike rooms are basically industry standard. Soome have nice views, too. I think the hosts at Gold Strike can make life quite comfortable for a quarter player. I can't really comment of those at Fitz.

I checked all over last week and could not find any 10/7 DB.

Gold Strike's $1/$2 NSUD with 1% CB on Tuesdays was removed about two weeks ago. Eight floor machines were moved to the WSOP area and given NSUD as a downgrade from 3x DW. Nice downgrade! Anyway, the machines came back to the floor converted to four-gamers with bad tables, the best being 9-6 DDB on 50c/$1.

Gold Strike has several 10/7 DB machines in .25, .50 and $1 denominations near the center of the casino close to the table games. If you are a quarter player, like me, these machines have a large 50 cent sign at the top, but touch the denomination button on the screen and it offers 25 cent play as well as $1.

I would also highly recommend going to Gold Strike which is next door to the Sheraton on Tuesdays as they offer 1% cb and have 9/6 JOB and FP2PJP at 25c,50c and $1.

I've played at around the $5K/day level at GS in the past and gotten room and coffee shop/buffet comped. Room and meal comps in Tunica are so easy, it's almost hard for a non-Tunica regular to believe the ease at which the casinos comp down there.

There are 9/6 JoB MG/MD bartops in the bar near HiLimit room (towards the hotel side of casino) and at the main stage bar. There are 9/6 JoB MG/MD uprights in the area near where the .25 9/6 JB used to be about a year ago, before they were moved upstairs. There is an elevator near this area. As you stand facing they elevator, they will be over your left shoulder, behind you. There is another 9/6 JoB MG/MD circular bank between the area listed above and the hi limit area. There may be more than these (3) banks.

Gold Strike has the 2-Pr JW in 50-cent games and the Triple Pay DW in quarters, besides the 9/6 JB in quarters, 50-cents and dollars. GS's CB is .5 percent (1 percent on double point Tuesdays). I could not find NSUD at GS, but it could be I just overlooked it.

All 9/6 JoB are MIA.
